“AWAKENED”
By: Precious Angel Garcia
As I stand across the park,
My mind left me a remark
“You are in dark.”
But when I look up to the sky, I saw a spark.
Maybe it’s a sign for me to go out in my comfort zone
And start to make myself better even if I’m alone
Despite of the idea of gaining won,
I have to believe that I can do it on my own.
Through all my realization,
I start to make progression
Without considering any impression,
Since improving myself is my mission.
Explanation
This poem I’ve created entitled “Awakened” is a poem that is all about social-emotional development including the way on how someone think and the way of how someone take a step to make their lives and themselves better. The title is “Awakened” because the I based this poem in my personal life as I have random thoughts in my mind which I think brings me into the darkness until I’ve realized that I need to wake up and start to make improvements in my life and also in my emotions. If you read the poem and analyze it very well, you will be able to say that the concept and idea of this poem is currently being experienced by anybody. I made this poem because I want to address everyone that It’s not all the time that they will be stuck themselves into the darkness. They should get out of it and start to make themselves better even if they feel alone of making a progress. They should neglect first other people’s impression whether they will like him/her or not because the primary opinion that you should listen with comes within yourself because you know your own capabilities so start to build a good companion within yourself first so that you will be able to conquer the darkness as you try to get out of your comfort zone for your own betterment.
