Forever

And so I go, flowing like a river
freed from the weights given by hither.
Drifting into profound wilderness of promises never fulfilled before.
Offering everything as well asking for something only I could give all along.
Giving in is easy for it requires something I never wanted.
Temptation crawling in and a whole new story is ready to be unfolded.
But once done cannot be undone is what makes me so frantic.

The gravity of these words can be gone within a split second
All I need to do is let go of the string that fastens me to the present.
But who knows what is over there
Where men once go never come back.
We have to go there one day or another.
But am I ready for this oath called forever?

This treasure is the only thing that I can call truly mine
But is it worth all this fight?
If I let the darkness consume me
It will be put to a halt forever,
Taking me far away from the the world I call home
Into the far unknown.

Struck by reality all I want to do is run
From the land of promises back to the familiar embrace of warmth.
Gripping on to the only gift never cherished before.
Breathe like I never have, as I almost lost it forever.
