Light upon water

Mark cloutier 1972 (Kaneohe)

Light upon water
Forms a spectrum of color
While light upon matter
Casts a void of darkness
That forms out of a void
Creatures and a kingdom
Of many themes
That gives voice to a man
That is formed by the hand
Of a being that is without name
Only known as father
His children create a scheme
Of colors upon light
As the many waters
Sink deep into the sun
And are bathed by the moon
As they sleep from midnight
Til noon and awake
To satiate their tongues
Upon a feast
That satisfies the light
As they drank and ate
Both matter and light
As the waters subside
