In Memoriam of a Patriot

Preserving family, and faith,
She served our liberty's cause,
Heroic veteran came home,
Her honor never on pause.

As a patriot, she came to speak,
Make sure her voice is heard,
As a citizen she came unarmed,
And yet, by a coward, was shot.

As a champion of stars and stripes,
The banner wrapped her breast.
In disbelief, such hate she saw,
When she took her dying breath.

Last moments of her life were cold,
No comfort from brothers in arms,
No honor guard, or volleys shot,
No taps, or half staffed flags.

Powers that be, will have all think,
That she had erred to come.
To air her grievances is "sin",
So now her life's undone.

Their media collared dogs bark loud,
Full of the most rabid lies,
"Our constitution matters not!"
"Insurrectionist had to die!"

Purest intent, to keep our homeland safe,
They gladly would malign.
And oh so quickly freedoms die,
On our descent... to Tiananmen
