When You Find Yourself

A shovel ready job
For every Peter Paul and Bob
The line forms in the rear
You're welcome but be clear
Trouble begets heroes
One followed by zeroes
Crying in their beer

A hole takes its toll
Like a bridge with a troll
You sorrowful creature
Dig, digging dig deeper
Your tears will not float
Your sunken boat
Or make your misery dear

You're grasping at things
And pushing on strings
Embracing pity
That warm fluffy kitty
You think that's despair?
I hope you're aware
That soon you must pay the cashier

An octagon in red
The story you've been fed
Stop digging and you'll see
The shovel holds the key
Just use it in reverse
Your worries get no worse
Enjoy your somber souvenir
