Beginning With You

Alan M. 1963 (Ohio)

- Introduction-

This is a story, a true love story
that began when boy met girl
She was footloose, I was fancy free
I figured why not give it a whirl
But she was too pretty, and I was too shy
you know the situation
The closest I would get to her
was in secret admiration
Distance separated us
we naturally drifted apart
But that didn't stop
the place she would find
way deep down in my heart
Well off she went on her own way
and I went my way too
What makes this story a true love story
is that there's no end to the feeling
I share, beginning with you

- Beginning With You-
You inspired me for words and music
and they will have to do
To sing the song within my heart
that best expresses, when I think of you
Within an instant I felt what occurred
An attraction inside that you stirred
There comes a time when one
must open their heart
Now is the time and so I will start
Beginning with you

It's not enough to say I'm fond of you
or how much I care
It's more to let you know
how much I treasure when you are near
Within an instant I felt what occurred
a special feeling inside that you stirred
The kind of feeling that has no real end
Simply direction to which I send
Beginning with you

Can't promise you a life
of ups without downs
From time to time
even smiles fade to frowns
This much is certain I have to say
I'd rather face each and every new day
Beginning with you
