The River of Love Flows On

Family contemplates grain's golden blade -
America calls. It's a promise to keep.

At day's end ancestors fervently prayed -
Reverently taking time to weep.

Together - hand in hand - they made the grade,
Before retiring for a night's sleep.

Today cadre return to the plow and spade -
Sacred toil yields treasure to keep.

In fountain's cool cascade we will wade -
Rooted like an oak, planted so deep.

Spirits of ancestors like stars never fade -
Our harvest we joyfully reap.

Flowing like a river - Love's no charade -
A heart beats with a steady leap!
