I Just Didn't Realize

I Just Didn't Realize
So many years ago our paths crossed at a moment in time,
when the yearnings of my heart had more rhythm than rhyme.
The days seemed so much simpler then, everything was great,
I had no anchors tying me down, no reason for me to wait.
I saw my future calling to me, I heard my destiny in store,
I've come so far since then, and found life is so much more.
More than just affection, More then a tender loving touch,
More than musical perfection, More than having too much.
I thought there was a glimmer of a smile in your eyes,
and I was much too shy fearing love, I just didn't realize.
Life had been so rough in my mind, I fell for the lies,
I drifted out of your life and now can see, I just didn't realize.
On your return into my life, so much Happier do I feel,
maybe there is a spark between us that can be more real.
The calling I've been reaching for, was always in my past,
I only missed the signs, because I was living way too fast.
Grim was my discovery that reality knew how to get through,
Life is more than just an adventure, More than experience   anew.
Life is more than tragic comedy, more than a mimes' desire,
more than only satisfaction, more than a drifters' campfire.
Love has the ability to lift your soul, it's all you ever fantasize,
All the different shades of personality, I just didn't realize.
I was already taken aback, by the passion in your eyes,
yet still I was much too blind with ambition, I just didn't realize,
that love had always been in your shining eyes.
