Voices

Ellen Merritt 1965 (South Carolina)

It's OK. We've come before.
We will again.
Our voices, our lights, are not loud.
But they are many.
We shine Truth Light on lies and all evils
Which hiss in anger and pain
And then slither back into the darkest corners
There to foment and fester
Until we of Light and Truth are silenced yet again
Leaving them free to dance to Hell's cacophonous tune.
It's happened before.
It will again.
Earth's guardians turn into its destroyers, blinded by greed and ambition.
But with each turn of the Wheel,
A few more awaken and gain Sight. Their voices join to ours
In a quiet healing melody of hope.
