Drifting apart

As the sun sets to say the day is over
I went inside that tree house dad made one summer
As I had to bend and curl so carefully
I remembered how  easy it was
when I was 8

Spider webs all over the place
Like they erased good old days
He was my hero
I was his favorite girl

Things changed as I grew older
I became the black sheep
He became an enemy
Roles of our fairy tales
Suddenly took a drift

It’s been years since we spoke
I was nowhere for you to reach out
Things change people leave
And drift apart too
I’ll cherish only the best
Cz you are my one and only father in the world
