Province

Michelle Villamin 1983 (Camiling Tarlac)

I can run freely in the fields of rice
Live in a house made out of bamboo
Listening to cultural music of my dialect
Knocking at neighbor's homes for a free fruit from their yard
Climbing trees and falling asleep
Throwing rocks directly to bring the mango down
Braiding purple onions together for a few pesos
Getting thumb blisters from getting the dried corn off the cob
Washing clothes by hand with a bar of soap
Enjoying the town fiesta
Bibingka and balut at the plaza
ABC game matching  and stop the lights to win like a tabo and house supplies
Remembering town basketball games then dragonball Z
A can of sardines fed a family of 3
A guy serenades you with he's guitar " harana"
Write love letters and try to impress your family
Guys hang out and stand by the sari sari stores just few houses down
Getting hollered at just by coming out to buy halo halo
Simbang gabi ohh I miss that..
Lighting of the bamboo candles...
Most of all I am very grateful coming from a province of the Philippines
