Stranger's home

Hailey Silva 1993 (Sheridan, Wyoming)

Darkened skies surrounding me on every corner,
Hardened walls collapsing to unknown territory,
Emotional dread filling the very essences of my soul,
Chained and trapped in a nightmare that has shadowed my existence,
A distant beating of a drum that once played in a past memory,
Chilled hands around my throat suffocating the very breath I breathe,
Will I once more fill whole again?
Or has the choices of my life permanently led me to remain lost in a stranger's home?
Will I rise in the morning sun and kiss the fresh crisp air,
Shell I remember the warmth that I once felt long ago,
Am I for ever forced to be forgotten and left behind with only the shattered dreams to comfort me?
Come what may of the loneliness that burns my soul,
As the last tear falls off my cold cheek,
I will be bound to this stranger's home!!!
