My Carpet

I am one who some call strange
I just simply accept it
Knowing I'll never change
For when I enter my room
I quickly lay upon my floor
And, forgetting my former gloom
Simply inhale the scent
Which has inhabited my carpet
For the smell is that of happy times
And children who
Though at times may whine
Are very dear to me
For I cherish the times they are here
And, after unloading all their gear
Begin to play happily.
