Outside I am free

Take me down to the river
Come hike the trails with me
I long for adventure
The waterfalls are calling me

I dream of the stars in the big black night sky
They glisten so bright
Like the twinkle in my eye

Excitement is coursing through my bones
As it is time for a road trip far from home
I don’t know what surprises lie in store
But I am ever anxious to find out

It’s not that I don’t like being home
I just like to be outside
The fresh air revives my soul
The wind gives me a gentle hug

The beauty of the sights I see
From the lake to the flowers and the trees
The butterfly that glides by
Brings a smile to my face

Trapped in a building
Is not my style
For I am a wild child
