Golden melanin

When you look at me what do you see?
Do you see a black Monkey?
Or you see amongst human a black sheep,
No, you’re wrong I’m nothing less than a golden melanin.

When you these very dark eyes,
Do you see a black twisted soul only sure for evil?
No, you’re wrong; it’s a shadow of my dark past,
But surrounded by lights of hope.

My afro, it describes my big dreams,
It seems overwhelming, but I can handle it,
They are not unrealistic;
They are explosions of the thoughts in my head.

My protruded lips are thick,
And heavy with words of affirmation,
It is one of my most precious assets;
Cause in it is life and death.

My looks are a symbol of adaptation,
Cause I’ve thrived and survived,
There’s nothing you throw to me,
That I cannot handle.

So dear you, when you see me;
Know that I’m a pack of experience, luxury and power,
Fired by the furnace of life,
That makes me a GOLDEN MELANIN.
