Spiritual Eyes
Honor your commitment the one you made so many ages before you were aware,
the one to be true to yourself and learn how to love and truly care.
it's not a matter of selfishness or pride so let the idle chatter burn,
you must first love yourself before you can give love that's how you learn.
I never was nor will I truly be comfortable saying I'm a religious man,
I seek a deeper connection to myself where no ego stops the belief "I Can".
with eyes wide shut to the world yet open to what's in my very heart,
I seek the discovery of me the real one I knew I should've been to start.
Religions cause wars and dissention I choose not to follow the lies,
What I really am after is the ability to see through spiritual eyes.
all the futile rituals of the physical nature all go against the grain,
The blind are leading the blind to a shelter that's filled ith pain.
standing under stormy skies drenched from the rain they should realize,
they would be at ease with their world if they saw through spiritual eyes.
the one upsmanship displayed in the worldwide  bible verse tug of war,
or the knowing smug smile as they claim they really know Jesus more.
If they really knew Jesus then they would be sending a message of love,
not condescending holier than thou looks like they are up above.
My congregation is going to heaven but yours has flaws so you should repent,
I somehow doubt that was the original message that had been sent.
killing people for the sake of religion forcing non believers under the bus,
well I know that message also doesn't have merit or appeal to Allah us.
There is no great mystery to find what ones soul really does prize,
joyful times and family which is everyone when you see through spiritual eyes.
there's no room for judgement, anger, or fear when love is all you see,
you'll reflect your light upon all you meet for them love you will be.
It's time to take a stand for life-don't allow destruction to fill our skies,
Turn that page on anger and hate and heal the soul open your spiritual eyes.
