A Rumble With Reality

A Rumble With Reality
By Donald James Kirby Von Koehler

If you live behind a mask-what will the world see?
why don't you show them- how good you can be
no one can down you- if you do your best
it's yours to discover- the wicked see no rest.
it's an adventure-the destiny you pursue
you're a contender- and this is your breakthrough,
do you see eye to eye-do you look within
you can learn to fly- every battle you can win.
A rumble with reality- it's what you call a fantasy
on the defense-chasing an illusionary ecstasy,
A rumble with reality- we see it in your eyes
you try to hide it-it's no foolproof disguise.
never really looking to escape the insanity
never really believing- you can change instantly
it's yours to uncover- one of life's mysteries,
you won't find solutions- living in your miseries.
A rumble with reality- And you believe the lie
that life is ever winding and you need an alibi
A rumble with reality- from your fears you hide
and the tears you cry within- never could subside.
