A Grumpy Poem

By: Curtis Carroll, 03/04/2020

Stay at home, don’t get out of bed,
If you go outside, you are dead, dead, dead!
Nothing but re-runs on TV; the cards you can’t find,
Wife and kids screaming at each other; you are losing your mind!
The line-up for groceries can take all day,
The liquor shops and bars are closed; you can’t even go to Church and pray!
Children at home because the Schools have closed its doors,
The mess they tend to leave – Moms keep mopping the floors.
If the Curfew isn’t lifted soon, you will see;
A rise in home assaults – much higher than it used to be.
Mother Nature, what have you done?
As if Dorian wasn’t enough, you have added an unknown.
Take this scourge away, and leave us alone;
Then we can be a happy people again, in our home sweet home!

Note: Nothing better to do.
