Body and Soul

Abo Danial Omar 1964 (Al Gebel)

Body and soul a pledge
Life’s journey to the end
Spirit and guts paired
For the iconic descend
Headstones the world breaks
The next into two ends

Body and soul a pledge
To unravel the bond whence
Hearsay by heaven say
Through time’s only curve
One couple the kind ends,
Their shadows have a third!

Body and soul a pledge
Trust forever and a day
Both work and one rests
For how long unsaid
No doubt if late is return,
But if it’s always to bed!

Body and soul a pledge
Brighter or darker fate
To the end after the end:
Starless heaven over graves
Or so high it is, as dark depth
On top and beneath faith
