Starry Dusty Diamond Sky

Daniel Millard 1976 (Medford, OR)

Goodbye my
Starry dusty diamond sky
Gemstones
Fallen from golden bands
Sparkle bright like
Frozen teardrops in space
A glacial home for your cold
Cold heart
Lions
Lay low when
Wolves howl in the city
Gathering the pride
Beware of the sheep with
The "broken leg"

Lover of leaving
Lover of running away
Can you see my fear?
What is the price of conversation?
Painful new spirit
Little one
Where is your savior?
Clean and good and wise
What to do after you have
Fed on the bread of wickedness
Behind closed doors
Sharing stolen waters
Making your mouth
Dry like a desert
