Gods flames

Alexis Colella 2006 (Staten island)

The way the light shines through mankind's dark sin
Through the good and the bad, morning and night
We are surrounded by flames from within
When we are born the first thing seen is bright
What bears us such a gift of the dressing
Some do not recognize God's greatest gift
The warmth the growth the light and the blessing
We are the flames of luster shining through another's drift
It is we who glare at the end of waking
As we extend our years we come across joy
The comfort it brings one's soul is breathtaking
When approaching death one's life is suddenly toy
Everyone shall perish and when so their flame,
their flame will slowly blow till the end game
