Fireside Chat

I bet you wish that He would save you now.
I know He would if it was just, somehow.
What about your life, was it good to you?
Did you get everything you wanted to?
They tried to show you but you never learned.
This crown of worms isn't a curse, it's earned.
Your kingdom come, you thought it'd never be.
Yet here we are, and I bow to thee.

Does it feel good to have a fool mock your pain?
To know our mark on life has become a stain?
The “right” we sought was always our own.
And now you sit like me on a fiery throne.
Our battle cry has now become a wail.
The gods we once were is a fairy tale.
We're bound and shriveled like a cursed fig tree.
While the Truth that we denied, set men free!
