Circling the Drain

At night is when I feel most content
Isn't it ironic?
The dark, silent night
Gloomy and bitter,
Makes me happy
My troubles are hidden amongst the shadows
And I am able to forget them
At least for a little while
My mind feels lighter
I dread going to sleep
For I know, when I wake up
And see the bright sun shining through my curtains
My troubles will settle once again
Quickly rushing in
Suffocating me
Making me long once again
For the night
