We are Worn

We are earthly dust,
Stricken,
And star struck.
Old age
Like new age.
Falling leaves
To fellow shoots.
Shooting stars
To rock stars.
We start in diapers
Then in briefs,
And again in diapers.
A brief time
That is sublime.
We look for the shooting stars,
We find we’re in a generation
From God dust
Below the starry steps
Of God’s throne room,
Steps the angels
And celestial show room.
In us is Jesus,
God wears us like shoes,
And to dust we walk
No more in blues.
