dead weight

natasha 2000 (Delhi)

Alone amidst the vast sea of endless species
I find myself pondering over my worth
Overwhelmed with nostalgia I keep retracting
confining myself to my devastated state
Not on my life could I reclaim what I once had
For it is lost in a realm far beyond my reach
nor could it be recreated impeccably
for the memory, etched deep down haunts me
I couldn’t help but shudder hysterically
at the very possibility of reminiscing that memory
Nothing helped me get over it
Neither a friend nor a foe could possibly do anything about it
I was left utterly helpless and alone
like a pitiable soul drifting in the Acheron
All it took was a moment of lost abstinence
for me to linger and wallow in self-doubt
My train of thought halted with a jerk
departing as swiftly as it arrived
Throwing me back into the masses but with a dead weight on
