Love Waits

In the classroom of love
I ‘ve studied many a book
Only to find deep in my heart
The home you took

If your heart
Is in a lonely place
Within my own heart
You overflow that space

For you are
The light of my day
Brighter than the Sun
Radiant that special way

Day after day
You’re on my mind
A permanent fixture
No rose ever so fine

I’m finding of late
How love rules my heart
And how you seem to fit
A most essential part

If I must wait
For your love
I’ll wait forever
On blessings from stars above

DanceOfThePoet'sPen

Guess you could say I'm a self taught poet. I started writing poetry as a means of dealing with the emotions of finding my Birthmother's obituary and grave site after searching for 10 years. I continued writing and over the course of the last 20 years I've become comfortable in how I write. You'll notice I tend to write a lot about nostalgia and old memories. Hey, when you round the corner of 60 years, you start thinking a lot about the past and where you've been. One of my subjects I write about is love, but I try to write of other things too. I've lived on the south shore of Massachusetts for all of my 64 years. But I love all of New England. Aside from writing poetry, I also love photography and have quite a collection of old antique cameras. Baseball, football, muscle cars and car shows are also some of my interests. Not too crazy about Winter. Spring & Summer are my favorite seasons. more…
