Take My Hand

I’ve thought of you often
Curious if you’re with me
If my voice you hear
If these words you see

I’ve always believed in you
With every passing day
My belief in you grows
And I love you in many ways

I need you in my life
Your influence and guidance
Confidence in myself
Restore me with reassurance

Please help me
To break free of my past
The chains of guilt
From which I was cast

My Guardian Angel
Your name I know not
My lifelong companion
I’m thankful of all you’ve taught

But I feel there’s more
To me you’re trying to teach
In the only way I know how
With these words, to you I reach

The emptiness in me
Taxing my heart and soul
Of what I refuse to give up
The love that makes me whole

My love of life
Of all things beautiful
Most of all, a woman’s heart
Loving and meaningful

Take my hand
My Guardian Angel
Show me understanding
Of my life’s love spell

DanceOfThePoet'sPen

Guess you could say I'm a self taught poet. I started writing poetry as a means of dealing with the emotions of finding my Birthmother's obituary and grave site after searching for 10 years. I continued writing and over the course of the last 20 years I've become comfortable in how I write. You'll notice I tend to write a lot about nostalgia and old memories. Hey, when you round the corner of 60 years, you start thinking a lot about the past and where you've been. One of my subjects I write about is love, but I try to write of other things too. I've lived on the south shore of Massachusetts for all of my 64 years. But I love all of New England. Aside from writing poetry, I also love photography and have quite a collection of old antique cameras. Baseball, football, muscle cars and car shows are also some of my interests. Not too crazy about Winter. Spring & Summer are my favorite seasons. more…
