“
Today Is My Birthday
As written on the birth certificate
Today is my Birthday,
Which I neither took notice
Nor I celebrated nor bothered that
However, as I remember
A long journey of such Birthdays,
Which were only the flow of grief and tears,
No one realized that
During the messages of congratulations
With wishes and prayers of a long-life,
Sound health and bright career
I stayed smiling at each Birthday
And I still smile, questioning myself
It is the Birthday of my fortunate,
Which I never realized and felt
Or it is
The Birthday of my first crying and tears
Which I have been carrying and facing
Since the first day of birth to the earth
Till today
Whatever it is; I follow tradition
Happy Birthday to myself
And thanks to all of you.
