I am Going to Die in Your Arms Tonight
Melody Rogers 1960 (Ashland Kansas)
Watch, I am going to tear the moon right out of the sky. I will do it and never even ask why... the pain that I feel has chained me.... like a fool... to fall in the pool of your eyes...it no surprise...I was never all that strong... and it didnt take all that long to break me, cause you wouldn't take me and make me your own.
I am going to put out the sun... it has shined its last... it is done... and with it, all my fortunes lost and won... I begin again, I've begun to become undone. I am unraveled, mangled and sore put upon... and I long to die my death within your arms.
Take me now, this is how I was to go...
Lying in your arms, breathing slow...
I take all the I knowledge that I know
And I will take a puff and out I will blow...
Angel's will come and go around me and show Me how to walk the walk to the rainbow.
I feel the strength of your grasp.... as I sit upon your lap. I would look for hope but I dont know where it is at. I quiver like a mouse that had been caught by a cat. I feel lost like I was lost in a lover's spat. How can I work this out... my world is become black?
And shadows, they are all the same color... no matter what color you are. I wish upon a prayer, I wish upon a star... i will always reach out to you, no matter where you are. .I know I will be going ... I just don't know how far....but I am counting my blessings, tallying the score.
Pent up like cattle penned inside a farm....I need you now to take some shape and form... so save me from life's decrepit harm... I started new, but now I am worn. The Least of all the children that were ever born... from sunset to the early morn, but just let me die safely in your arms.
