AN UGLY DUCKLING'S SWANSONG

I watch as they flaunt along, uniformed, calm, while being so graceful
Under the stares intently I thrash around creating more than a ripple
I overstep their gaze, the butterflies affect me no more
No longer I fear making a splash most seem to deplore
Witness this frantic unruffling of effects caused to their feathers
Observe how they again waiver to the tide, as though in tethers
Appears the flocks are missing the link fear whips up, it keeps them latched
Bridled, groomed to given apex, seek a prime mate, game, set, and matched
Once I had longed to fit until realising, I am not a piece jig sawed
No breakdown, or be tuned to a dance seen as best on the flawed
The selfish by nature form in groups, to see their dire world manifest
Lost illustrious scenes shows karma befalls the storms of mans infest
Sites former majesties are now sights to complete contrasts
Ugly inducting vision brought all down to ruins, ever so fast
Long had I departed this eyesore and impending doom I foresaw
Ash appeared as drifting snow, whiles high above mans burden I view
Highlight event, of whence into my own truly I became, I soared
In concord the stars solar fires continued adding to my flames as I flew

I am looking beyond written 'histories' for truths that are intentionally disguised within words by way of using modern terms more…
