Pain of separation (Poem of Vidyapati rendered in English)

Oh! to me sandal paste (on forehead of mine) is (piercing like) terrible dart
All the ornaments became burdensome
Alas!Even in dream Hari, nay,Gokulgiridhari had not come
Standing alone beneath the cadamba tree
She is searching Murari
Without a sight of Hari,my heart burnt and my loin cloth, nay, Sari  turned grey
O Udhav!(thy bossom friend of Hari)
Go away,go away
You must go to Madhupur (or Mathura)
As moonfaced beauty is not alive
Why you may be blamed for snatching life?
Vidyapati nicely says: O an apt woman ! Hearken attentively
Today Hari will visit Gokul, move on quickly.
