The Easter Gift

No more does darkness creep,
reigns not  gloom in depths of heart,
but light and shining crown
illuminate my path.

The cross engraves a wondrous tale
of life redeemed and found anew,
like mountain stream down verdant fell,
it feeds the grass and leaves fresh dew.

In Spring the flower buds await
the sun's first golden glow,
likewise does Easter celebrate
resurrected life, new hope.

What precious gift to hold and praise,
the knowledge of the risen LORD,
truth-- to cherish,  to amaze
most gracious token to the world.

To live a full abundant life,
the heart's deep needs fulfilled,
riches, God wants us to have,
a treasured gift indeed.
