Borys Hrinchenko “ To My Brothers”
(1884)

In the far homeland you’re, from me apart, oh, my brothers, well-liked,
But my own soul with your ones I do sincerely unite,
We all do share mutual thoughts and sorrows, that are the very same,
And, so my heart with your hearts suffers the same way in a pain,
And, it is only a sweet tune that still can give me rest,
And, in the song, oh, dear fellows, I sing ‘bout our deep distress.
