There is a kingdom in the wind with no king

The mightiest oaks do not grow strong. They give
into the wind,
like the smallest blade of grass.
 The shattering, and violent
pruning of its essential limbs
Is not the sacrifice of the tree...
It is all the transparent and graceful
Sacrifice of the wailing wind.
By blindly burying its beloved oak’s roots
 So deeply
Into the warm heart of earth,
It vows complete sanctuary
 Far from its violent rage.
Thus adorning them both with
the soft, bright jewels
of color and song
from those heavenly beasts
who call them
home.
