Safety

Safety
What is it anyway
We say we are safe at home
But we keep our guard up
And stay on our own
Alone I mean the evidence is shown
We have our  flowers guarded by nomes
Safety,What is it anyway
Is it with insecurity that you are scared of the unknown
Safety,What is it anyway
Is it something you look for on your phone
Or is it a state of mind straight from the dome
Safety,What is it anyway
Does it let your mind free in rome
Safety is it a place you’ve known
Or a place back home
Or a place in which it influenced the way you’ve grown
Safety,What is it anyway
Is it a way to escape from things others condone
Or a base
When I ask these questions don’t give me a twisted face
Safety,What is it anyway
I think its a soft landing
Please help me,I need an understanding
Safety,What is it anyway
Is it a wishing only you know the genie is granting
I will have people walk with me “Safety,What is it anyway”
They’ll be chanting
I’ll start a revolution
It will become an evolution
Safety,What is it anyway
To me it is when you are in no hurry
And  you damn sure got no worry
From the things i’ve seen
People use words everyday but  don’t know what it mean

Mohamed K. Koroma

My name Mohamed K. Koroma and I am a Junior at Sayreville War Memorial High School located in Sayreville, New Jersey. I want to become a musician, and if that doesn't work, I want to become an inspirational speaker. I like sending out deep messages through my poems. I feel like people aren't really aware. Things hurt a lot of people, and although I am a minor, in the area I'm in, some things still hurt me, even though I wasn't there. Poetry is my outlet. I want to send out messages for people to know that they're not alone. I might not have gone through what some people have, but I want to sympathize with them. I write about things that everyone goes through, not only me. I feel like Poetry.net will play a big part in the success of my poems. more…
