"For this reason have I come",
born to die-- prophecy's cry!
Silent before Roman and Jew,
beaten, accused, spat upon,
drank it all. the bitter cup.
Darkness overtook day's light,
soldiers mocked, crowd dismayed,
women wept, disciples fled.

Love, forgiveness, grace,
flowed through blood and flesh,
Pilate's question, "What is truth?",
suspended in space.
