dark times

the woodlands cry as if with voices,
they scream in pain to the god above.
the fire is burning deceptive, corruptive,
the god turns away as he shakes his head in shame.

swords are shattered shields are broken,
the blood of mortals flow in streams.
the evil ones laugh full of amusement,
the good ones cry their tears for the world.

unbreakable castles are built out of anger,
mighty and strong they have no fear.
but they fall to soo small an army,
defeat is caused by deceit from within.

the lust of battle is overwhelming,
the trumpets call their men to arms.
one more time the trumpets call,
but only a god has hope to defend.
