Sweet Potatoe Candy

Sweet south
I breathe you
On my porch swing
We blend in

Becoming a harmony of memories
As creeping night shrouds all eyes
I adore you

Days we spent
Sweatin ' in mornin' sun
All blistered up by 1:00
Your damn grin so pleasin'
Step into my heart-please come in

I'm entangled in thought
Your presence hangs on me
Like moss, on a great Oak Tree

New Orleans calls
Shall we answer her plea
To become

I crave the moment
To lie naked in old moss
Beneath the blanket of The Milky Way
We become lost

Giving liberty to our reality
I breathe you in
Smells of night blooming Jasmine
Confront me
You're real

You taste of Sweet Potatoe Candy
As you coat my lips
My tongue is sticky sweet
Forever you linger in my memories

Part of me
