The Saddest Thing

The saddest thing I'll ever see
The eyes of a child in a grown body!
Lost and impaired by a false reality,
No clue how to manage, or survive.
The soul that's lost when parents take a dive.
No message of life, only shuffled off
Without direction to wonder lost.
A bitter world, hate and anger all around,
We bring them here, cuddle them, then let them learn from the town.
Protecting them from mistakes then having enough
Send them packing into the rough!
Souls with no destination, unknown talents and broken wings,
We ignore what we've done and deny many things!
One thing clear is the future we have failed,
When we as parents got lazy and bailed!
Responsibility came with such gift, and it's dismissed,
As emptiness spreads and sadness is often kissed.
I swear it true the saddest thing I ever saw,
the mistakes we make in our child's eyes so raw!
What right do we have to leave them this way?
What right do we have not to teach them life everyday?
