Les Pâquerettes

Maurice Rollinat 1846 (Châteauroux) – 1903 (Ivry-sur-Seine)

Les pâquerettes sont en deuil
Depuis que Marguerite est morte.
Hélas ! on a fermé la porte
Et sa bière a quitté le seuil.

Elles se miraient dans son œil :
C’était leur âme en quelque sorte !
Les pâquerettes sont en deuil
Depuis que Marguerite est morte.

Chacune, avec un tendre orgueil,
Câline et tristement accorte,
Eût voulu lui servir d’escorte
Et se faner dans son cercueil !
Les pâquerettes sont en deuil.
