Que la rivière dit au vent,
À l’objet inerte et mouvant,
Au soir brun comme au matin blême.

Pour moi, tu n’es pas un emblème
Du bruit humain si décevant,

Dans la solitude que j’aime
Tu berces mon esprit rêvant,
Et tu m’apaises bien souvent
Quand je grince ou quand je blasphème,
