La Sieste

Maurice Rollinat 1846 (Châteauroux) – 1903 (Ivry-sur-Seine)

En regardant sauter les geais
Sur les hautes branches d’un chêne,
Délivré du spleen qui m’enchaîne.
Béatement je m’allongeais.

Oh ! comme alors je me plongeais
Dans la quiétude sereine,
En regardant sauter les geais
Sur les hautes branches d’un chêne !

Et, sans traiter un des sujets
Dont j’avais la cervelle pleine,
J’attendais que la nuit d’ébène
Eût effacé tous les objets,
En regardant sauter les geais.
