Magny, je ne puis voir un prodigue d'honneur,(0.00 / 0 votes)
Qui trouve tout bien fait, qui de tout s'émerveille,
Qui mes fautes approuve et me flatte l'oreille,
Comme si j'étais prince ou quelque grand seigneur.
Mais je me fâche aussi d'un fâcheux repreneur,
Qui du bon et mauvais fait censure pareille,
Qui se lit volontiers, et semble qu'il sommeille
En lisant les chansons de quelque autre sonneur.
Celui-là me déçoit d'une fausse louange,
Et gardant qu'aux bons vers les mauvais je ne change,
Fait qu'en me plaisant trop à chacun je déplais :
Celui-ci me dégoûte, et ne pouvant rien faire
Qu'il lui plaise, il me fait également déplaire
Tout ce qu'il fait lui-même et tout ce que je fais.
