My Bubba (part 1)

Conner, my Bubba, my friend,
So dear and true, till the end,
His hugs bring comfort and warmth,
Like a gentle summer storm.

But when he's away, I fret,
Checking messages, again and yet,
I wonder if I've been too needy,
If I've bothered my dear friend too much unduly.

Anxiety creeps in like a thief,
Stealing joy, like a sly little thief,
Doubts and fears fill my mind,
As I long for a response from my Bubba kind.
When he doesn't reply, I worry,
My thoughts spin like a dizzy flurry,
Did I say something wrong?
Or is he just too busy and too strong?

But then, a message appears on my phone,
And all the worry fades from my own,
My Bubba's words, they soothe me,
And my unease, they soon free.
