Finalement sur le point que Morphée
Plus véritable apparaît à nos yeux,
Fâché de voir l'inconstance des cieux,
Je vois venir la soeur du grand Typhée :

Qui bravement d'un morion coiffée
En majesté semblait égale aux dieux,
Et sur le bord d'un fleuve audacieux
De tout le monde érigeait un trophée.

Cent rois vaincus gémissaient à ses pieds,
Les bras aux dos honteusement liés :
Lors effrayé de voir telle merveille;

Le ciel encor je lui vois guerroyer,
Puis tout à coup je la vois foudroyer,
Et du grand bruit en sursaut je m'éveille.
