I Collapsed

I Collapsed

I collapsed on the steps
and fell unconscious.
Crushed in my despair from
what I had just witnessed.

A betrayal so deep as to cut me
to my very marrow and soul.

For now, I relinquish myself
and surrender myself to despair.
I lay deep in sleep and oblivious
to all that goes on around me.

How I got to where ever I am now
I have no recollection as my
lifeless and comatose body is
here yet I am not with it.

I have become aware of motions
around me though
I have no desire to leave
my slumber, my wonderful sleep.

I surrender to this unintentional
consequence of my life and being.
Acquiescence to this oblivious life
Without the emotions of love or hate.
