Word of Life

Quick and powerful is the Word of God,
Indivisible, One,
It builds, creates and protects
It crushes sickness and death.

Logos--living force-- it explodes,
and penetrates marrow and joints,
It opens blind eyes, gives legs to the lame,
It holds all things in its hand.

The Word is a shield to soldiers in war,
they speak the 91st Psalm,
and those who abide "in the secret place of the Most High",
angels are surrounded by.

God's Word breathes life in despair,
It  stirs, compels, inspires,
quick, immediate, palpable, living,
it overturns, heals, lifts  higher.

I pray for a wide, broad vision,
for quietude, stillness, endurance
His grace is greater than all trial,
let life flow within, carved in fire.

Spirit searches the deep of the heart,
a timeless journey on a narrow path.

About this poem

This poem was inspired by passages in the Bible: ex. Psalms 91, Hebrews 4. Those and other passages have been a strength in my dark days. Ps. 91:1 "Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty"
