Strangers Together

All of the time that we spent together has ended this way
Laughing together
Starting out in this friendship has created a new beginning
Loving together

Not letting the sins from others to define our hearts
Running together
Building a home for our future and our family
Living together

Watching jealousy feed into the hatred of the blinded fools
Growing together
Trying to make our easy way through all bad times
Struggling together

Ghosts of who we once were as walls crumble around us
Hating together
Recounting about how wrong we were as our hearts are torn apart
Crying together

Shadows of our empty home and recollections of what should be
Separating together
All of the time that we spent together has ended this way
Strangers together

The poem's strength lies in its ability to capture the complex and often contradictory nature of relationships with honesty and clarity. You've skillfully used a series of contrasting images and a rhythmic repetition to create a poem that is both poignant and deeply relatable. The use of "together" throughout the poem, changing its context with each stanza, is a very effective choice.
