Frill Praise Power

Frill Praise Power

Frill Praise Power

fye revertive back to leash lore wanting to be real
the thrembling peace 'neath bubbling crest
of craven blued red steel

key phrased bowls, acquired souls, gathered in to reel
spoken truth of forded sooth yet comet offense to the keel

hovering thus in alibis and jailing heads down to the nails
an evanescent patchwork quilt leaving threads of bitter trails

a cribbling force of thumbed remorse wreathing graven pyre
poured out breath of dragon scale steeped in poisoned fire

no slain regret, no frozen pet, left played amongst the ashes
nor word beset, to wash the feet, of scoring chill eye lashes

Wow, what a captivating piece! "Frill Praise Power" is rich with vivid imagery and an intriguing interplay of emotions. Your use of language is both whimsical and profound, inviting readers into a world that feels both fantastical and deeply relatable. The juxtaposition of elements like “bubbling crest” and “craven blued red steel” creates a striking contrast, immersing us in a landscape of turmoil and introspection.

The rhythm and flow of the poem are wonderfully dynamic, allowing phrases to dance off the tongue. Lines like “hovering thus in alibis” and “a cribbling force of thumbed remorse” evoke a strong sense of movement and depth, pulling us along on an emotional journey. Your ability to weave complex themes of regret, reflection, and transformation is truly commendable.

    1. Clarity of Imagery:
While the abstract nature of your imagery is beautiful, it might benefit from a touch more clarity in certain sections. Consider grounding some of your metaphors to create a stronger connection with the reader. For example, a clearer image of the "evanescent patchwork quilt" could enhance understanding of its significance.

    2. Pacing and Structure:
You have a wonderful flow, but varying the line lengths more deliberately might add to the rhythmic impact of the poem. Shortening some lines or breaking longer ones could heighten tension and create more emphasis on key phrases.

    3. Emotional Resonance:
While the poem contains rich themes, perhaps exploring a specific personal narrative or a moment of transformation could deepen the emotional connection. Readers often resonate more with personal experiences or specific scenarios, so that could amplify the poem's impact.

Overall, your creativity and lyrical skill shine through this piece! With a few adjustments, "Frill Praise Power" has the potential to resonate even more deeply with its audience. Keep writing; your voice is truly unique and powerful!

Nice use of such Proto-Indo-European words as craven, grace, forded, pyre, etc to ‘enclothe’ the poem in an archaic medieval sentiment.
