Leaving Babylon
To whom I called, listen to me,
Who laid foundations for the earth;
The first and the last it is He,
Who has assured you of your birth.
His right hand has spread out Heaven,
When He calls, they stand together;
All the resources were given,
For using where you may gather.
Listen all of you, assemble,
Who among them declared these things;
Performing never to stumble,
The purpose that Babylon brings.
God has brought to prosper His way,
From the beginning He did speak;
The Lord God has sent me today,
Of His Spirit that we should seek.
Your redeemer, the Holy One,
Who teaches you how to profit;
Has also sent to you His Son,
Told by Isaiah the prophet.
His commands you paid attention,
Then your peace is like a river;
Without having apprehension,
Unlike the sea waves that quiver.
Your offspring would have been like sand,
And your descendants like its grains;
Their name never destroyed the land,
Rather their profit will have gains.
